Casual Friday

Standard

OK by now you can see that I love wearing heels and have been wear true heels a LOT.  I’m not talking wedges or boots with a 1.5 inch heel (aka “lifts”)  I’m talking 5-inchers – what some people may call “stilts”.  I. love. it.   As I’ve previously mentioned, this is taking a toll on my poor calves so I’m surrendering and calling it quits on the stilts (for this week anyway).  Instead, I’m going to bring out a pair of my favorite leopard loafers, since it is spring again!  I’m IN LOVE with leopard and mint this season.  Truth be told, I’ve always been a huge fan of leopard print (I’m not big on snake skin or zebra, but I love me some leopard all day long).  Anyways, I love leopard and mint this season, which you can tell by my leopard loafers and scarf and mint sweater.

This mint sweater was a steal because it was “damaged”.  I LOVE when I see one of those little tags on a piece of clothing because most of the time it’s not a big deal, but it does result in a huge price difference.  This particular item had a coffee stain on it, and though it’s part of their spring line and still being displayed in the store at full price, it was significantly marked down because of this imperfection.  The spot was about the size of my pinky nail and was on the side of the sweater – not even visible when looking at it straight on.  I drink a lot of coffee and know that most of the time coffee comes right out without any problem, which was, of course, the case here – 2 seconds of a tide white out pen and viola! Good as new!  At any rate, it was a risk I was willing to take because even if the stain didn’t come out as I suspected it would, I drink like 10 cups of coffee a day so it’s pretty likely that I’m going to spill coffee on it at some point anyways!

Girly Business

Standard

I did NOT want to get out of bed today, so it’s a pretty good thing I already had this outfit picked out.  It’s really a simple outfit, but looks neat.  Actually I bypass it a lot when I’m sifting through my closet.  It’s really not my favorite outfit, and I’m not sure why because when I do wear it, I tend to get compliments on it.  Either way, it will have to do for today.  Basically my whole outfit is black:  socks, shoes, pants, and tank, with a light-weight, baby pink “flowy” top with some black sequence stripes.  Jewelry is a mix of gold, silver and black.  Why?  Why not?

Black And Tan

THIS is my preferred Black and Tan!

THIS is my preferred Black and Tan!

OK, so I’m not gonna lie, this isn’t necessarily my favorite Black and Tan, but on a Wednesday I’ll take it.  I’ve been having some “calf issues” that have come to the surface as a result of the lethal mixture of 5 inch heels and being a runner.  No, I don’t wear 5 inch heels while I’m running, but I do wear them on a daily basis…and then throwing on my flat running shoes and going for miles just makes everything super tight and super sore.  Pain is beauty, right?  Well at any rate, I decided to give my poor legs a break wear (almost) flat boots today, leggings, and a tunic.  suuuuppperrr comfy.  Feels like pajamas, but looks like a “real outfit”.  The shirt isn’t mine, it’s my sister’s.  Having a sister is ok I guess, but having a sister that is basically the same clothing size as you is AMAZING…hello doubled wardrobe!

Ready or Not Spring, Here I Come

Standard

OK so full disclosure:  I’m not actually wearing this outfit today for a couple of reasons….1. even though its technically spring in about 15 hours we got about 5 inches of snow last night;  2. due to a “fence hopping incident” both of my knees are black and blue and swollen; 3. I’m working from home today (because of the snow) so what I’m actually wearing is yoga pants and Fitness Revolution t-shirt.  BUT if the above mentioned things didn’t happen, this is what I was planning on wearing today.

Normally I just do the one pic collage, but since you can’t really get a feel for the sweater that way I added in a “solo shot” of the sweater.

Necessary Neon

Standard
Necessary Neon

I’m SOOOOO sick of winter.  Every part of it.  The cold, the darker colors, the layers.  I want spring…no I want summer – but I’ll certainly take spring over this.  One day its 50 degrees, the next day we get 20 inches of snow, the next day it melts into a disgusting mess, and the cycle seems to keep repeating itself over and over and over…and I’ll tell you what – I’m over it.

Today I”m wearing this awesome sweater from the Gap that is neon orange and pink.  I just got it this past weekend on clearance, and it is definitely a winter sweater based on it’s weight, but the colors are totally spring and super hot!  I paired it with gold accessories, nice tall ankle boots and my dark denim skinnies.  What do you think?

Bracelets:  Alex & Ani and J. Crew (gifts)

Necklace:  Christmas gift from my sister

Earrings:  Lia Sophia ($34)
