Apple Picking

Standard

The title to this blog post is a bit misleading because I actually have not been apple picking and don’t really have an intentions of apple picking in the near future, but this outfit makes me feel like I should go apple picking.  Classic look with brown boots, blue jeans, a plaid button down and leather jacket.

Something Borrowed

Standard

My sister just got this dress over the weekend at the GAP on super clearance, and suggested that I wear it this week. Yes, before she has even worn it herself…do I have the best sister or what?! Anyways I paired it with a gold skinny belt, and a yellow statement necklace, which is also my sisters. Then threw on some gold gladiators and called it a day…a happy bright cheerful day!!

Oh and PS- this dress has pockets which obviously increases its value ten fold!!

4th of July!!

Standard

Happy 4th of July!! Today I’m going to a pool party and it’s about 90 degrees so I decided that I’d go with a lightweight cotton sun dress. Then I added in a navy skinny belt (which I will admit I bought specifically for this outfit but have been craving for a while) and my white bubble necklace. And voila! My red, white, and blue Independence Day outfit! I loveeee it!

Preppy Primaries

Standard

Today I’m on the “Primary Color Wheel”:  Red, Blue, and Yellow.  I really like this combo, and have worn it before here with pants.  Actually I basically wore this entire outfit in that post, but completely differently.   There I had on the mustard pants, with the shirt untucked, while wearing my red necklace.  Today I’m trying out something new.  Mustard skirt, with my shirt tucked in, and get this:  I’m wearing my necklace as a belt!  I decided to try it out, and I like it, so I’m going with it.  I love when I find that you can wear items in unexpected ways!

On another note, I have decided I need a photographer because my pictures are always horrible…but hopefully you catch the drift of my outfit! haha

Today is an awesome day because I’m at my little brothers graduation from the University at Buffalo!! Wearing a lace dress, with red accessories. The shoes I actually wore in a wedding party last summer. Since they are low wedges, they are quite comfortable.

2025

Standard

I’m definitely feeling more of a casual vibe this week.  Even though I’ve got loads of clothes, I couldn’t find anything I wanted to wear.  So, I threw on my old 2025 tee, chambray shirt, and some loose comfy jeans.  So, whats 2025?  2025 refers to the Global Campaign for the Eradication of Hunger and Malnutrition.  Basically, its a movement to raise public awareness and concern about hunger and malnutrition so all governments will commit to fulfil the right to adequate food for all people and to eradicate hunger and malnutrition no later than 2025.

A Mustard Kinda Day

Today I’m FINALLY back in the office after being sick for the past few days, and it’s a relief!  I am making my “big debut” with Mustard Skinnies, my new Chambray shirt, and some gold accessories.  I love the look.  I feel like it would also look great with some cowboy boots, but unfortunately I no longer own a pair. wah!

Color Blocking My Way Through Valentine’s Day

Standard

I think Valentine’s Day is stupid, but that being said, it still happens.  So, I decided to dress for the occasion anyway.  My pic is dark because it was majorly foggy out this morning.  Basically I copied one of (or I guess I should say two of) J’s Outfits.  Her outfits were more summery, but given their dark colors I figured if I wore different fabrics I could transform it into a winter wonder ;).  I went with boots, lavender cords, and a thick wool sweater.  That’s pretty much it – just a few blocks of color, no accessories, except my watch, of course!

A little Pin goes a long way!

Standard

My sister saw this pin on Pinterest and sent it over to me.  I recently purchased this sweater from J.Crew where both my mom and sister made fun of it, but I knew it had potential.  When she sent me this pin I knew I had to do it since I had all the necessary equipment right in my own closet!!

Wintery Mix

Standard

Well our “photography studio” got removed…it is a sad day.  Luckily we found this awesome snowman in the cafeteria that looked like he could use some company so we took our pics there today!  Even this snowman is sad!

As you’ll notice, I’m obsessed with colored skinnies! I love them!  They are always fun, and they make any outfit stand out.  Many times I like mixing a colored or patterned top with colored bottoms but today I went with mostly black, besides my pants obviously, and a a leopard belt for a lil sumpin sumpin 😉 .

I really like mixing red and plum together.  Though the colors are much different, I think they look really nice together.

Baby Its Cold Outside

Standard

So today it is C.O.L.D. outside so I opted for a turtleneck sweater and some eggplant skinnies.  I love wearing long necklaces with turtlenecks because its the only way I’ve found so far that will allow me to wear a necklace while still looking OK (and not choking me!
